This is how you can make a difference at Abbott: We currently have an opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join our Abbott Vascular site in Clonmel. You will deliver the engineering knowledge and expertise to ensure the facilities plant and services meet the business requirements to support the manufacturing across the site. This must be delivered in a quality compliant and cost-effective manner. Key Responsibilities: Develop planning, design and execution for key facilities projects.  Oversight of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.  Responsible for planning plant and facilities services to deliver economy of operation and maximum utilisation of facilities and equipment.  Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labour, materials, preparation, and other related costs..  Develops criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.  Ensure compliance to all required Engineering & Technical applicable standards. Responsible for the creation and writing of validation / commissioning documentation (protocols & reports) in compliance to internal requirements utilising well developed techniques, standards and regulatory skills. Manage the execution of validation protocols in a compliant, timely and cost-effective manner through specialised experience and training. Coordinate the change management process for facilities related activity in compliance to internal company requirements. Responsible for the completion of annual periodic reviews for direct impact facilities systems. Coordinate, compile department quality results and metrics reviews including monthly quality data review process. Completion of assigned work order notifications and CAPA’s Participation in Audit preparation and follow-up works including during audit support Gathers and reviews data concerning facility equipment specifications, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Assists in development of short-term and long-term facilities space plan.  Education and Experience: National Framework of Qualifications level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline. 2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Working knowledge and application of business concepts, procedures and practices. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Must have a general knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems environment. Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks. May demonstrate basic project management skills by acting as a project lead on small, well-defined projects. Provides guidance to less experienced staff. Influence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management. Plans, organises, and prioritises own daily work routine to meet established schedule. Exercises authority and judgment within defined limits to determine appropriate action. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause delays and may result in the allocation of additional resources.
