Reporting to: Factory Manager Location: Montague Gardens, Western Cape An exciting opportunity has become available in our production warehouse. The ideal candidate will be driven and self-motivated with a passion for productivity and achieving success. As an Outbound Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our chilled and frozen facility’s logistics operations, including transportation, dispatching, and fleet management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, optimizing routes, managing customer service staff, dispatch staff, drivers, and maintaining the reliability of our fleet.Key job functions
- Manage warehouse in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the logistics department, including dispatching, route planning, and coordination of deliveries.
- Plan and prioritize outbound shipments to meet customer delivery deadlines.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenishment needs, forecasting demand and coordinating with
- Production to ensure stock availability and maintain model stock.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between actual stock levels and inventory records.
- Supervise and motivate w staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize product waste.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer delivery inquiries and resolve any issues.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflow to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of warehouse equipment and facilities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, shipping volumes, and labour productivity.
- Participate in budget planning and cost control initiatives.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to procure parts, equipment, and services for the fleet.
- Monitor and analyse logistics performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, fuel efficiency, and driver productivity, to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
Knowledge and Experience required
- Valid matric certificate.
- Relevant Degree/Diploma would be advantageous.
- 5 – 10 years’ experience working within a FMCG or wholesale and retail environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements in an FMCG or wholesale and retail environment.
- People leadership and management including planning, organizing, control, staffing.
