Financial Controller / Project Accountant

This is a pivotal, hands on role as the Joseph Gallagher Group seeks to build its international presence. Currently established in Bahrain with significant recent experience in UAE and Kuwait, the Group is pursuing a number of significant opportunities on prestigious infrastructure projects critical to the future development and economic growth of Saudi Arabia and across the region. The successful individual will be a qualified accountant (preferably with experience of large infrastructure projects), a fluent Arabic and English speaker, and will need to be flexible with regards to location and be able to travel freely across the region. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and the Regional Director Responsible for all aspects of local accounting and finance operations, including:

• Day to day management of the accounting function, using the Group’s accounting systems and implementing Group accounting policies and procedures.
• Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all transactional data.
• Establishing local policies and procedures to ensure that all regulatory requirements are understood and met on a timely basis, including liaising with the auditors and other professional advisers as necessary.
• Building strong and effective relationships with commercial and operational management and the Group finance function to facilitate the smooth running of projects and providing timely and effective financial insight.
• Establish credibility and build effective working relationships with external parties, including customers, suppliers and advisers.
• Monthly management reporting to Group, including management accounts and project account reports (CVRs).
• In conjunction with regional management, prepare and manage regional and project budgets and forecasts.
• Weekly cash forecasting and cash management.
• Managing all regional office expenditure, ensuring the Group receives value for money and expenditure is authorised in accordance with Group policies and procedures.
