Project Specialist / Assistant Project Manager – Supply Chain Our Supply Chain teams are right at the heart of what we do. The Project Specialist/APM will be the custodian of the project plan and will be responsible for ensuring tasks are carried out in accordance with the plan. Projects will include, but not be limited to, new distribution centre design and build, distribution site conversions, building fit out, automation installation, associated systems implementations, IT system development, Testing, Training and Operations transition. This will involve the Project Specialist/APM building relationships with suppliers and workstream leads to lead and support a team focussed on delivery. - Build comprehensive plan plans for those projects. Consolidating project plans provided by the workstream leads of Build, Automation, IT Infrastructure, IT Systems, Operations, Testing and Cutover.
- Work with the Automation provider, building contractors, IT development teams, Operations Teams, and Testing teams to establish optimal project plans and installation sequences.
- Arrange and hold weekly project plan updates with each workstream lead and updating the consolidated project plan accordingly.
- Monitor project task completion and ensure progress is made to plan and adjustments made whenever necessary.
- Support operations and other teams in the transition from project to normal business as usual. This will include developing transition and cutover plans.
- A minimum of 5 years project management experience ideally in supply chain and logistics
- Proven project management experience in a similar role working on large scale complex projects
- Experienced in an appropriate project management methodology with the associated use of Microsoft Project planning tools.
- Pragmatic, practical and results driven. Able to deliver in the face of varied and frequent challenges
- The individual should be self-motivated, focussed and results orientated, with the ability to operate within a highly pressurised and fast paced environment.
