Renewable Energy Construction HV Electrical Superintendent - Remote

Scope of Position: The Electrical HV (Substation) Superintendent role, will be responsible for observing the construction process at the field level of a solar project, developed by the Company, including electrical engineers and the EPC contractors, as well as interface with the utility supplier. Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position are:
  • Observe contractor’s electrical including the DC-Collection, AC-Collection and Wire Management installation means and methods, using technology provided. Currently the Field Inspection Tool (FIT) for documenting the quality, testing, and commissioning of the contractor’s work
  • Coordinate with electrical contractor on site logistics on material/equipment deliveries, receiving, and distribution to the installation blocks
  • Review, monitor and document the electrical scope and related activities of the master project schedules
  • Ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications and standards
  • Review Company’s Construction Contractor’s safety manuals and programs
  • Observe EPC contractor’s quality assurance and quality control program. Validate contractor’s quality checking
  • Observe all buried cable trenching prior to backfill
  • Monitor project construction and milestones schedule and confirm with contractors to assure the Project is being built in conformance with the design plans and specifications
  • When construction challenges are identified, report them to the Site Representative (Site Manager).
  • Observe all pre-functional testing and documentations
  • Observe all hot commissioning and testing activities and documentations
  • Observe and validate startup and commissioning activities
  • Review contractor project close-out documentation (as part of the Job Books) discrepancies or inconsistencies to Project Management for further review and remedy determinations
  • Report all Project Claim Occurrences to the Site Manager
  • Assist with monitoring and supporting contractors to assure that the milestones schedule is being completed in accordance with the EPC Agreement and report any delays or discrepancies to Site Representative for review and possible remedy determinations to meet Commercial Operations, Substantial and Final completion dates.
Employee shall provide Company with daily/weekly/monthly written reports as to (a) the Services performed, (b) any and all Health and Safety violations, (c) such other matters as may impasse Contractor’s performance of the Services Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in HV Electrical construction or related field.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including cold, rain, wind, etc. Working Conditions: 70% of time is spent in the field, onsite at various construction phase sites. 30% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment completing various documentation necessary Working Conditions: 100% of the time is spent at a construction site office in a commercial/industrial construction environment utilizing computers and construction documentation such as plans, specifications, contracts, schedules, and other project control documents #J-18808-Ljbffr
