The Opportunity The purpose of the role is to conduct planning and profitability reporting, and will work closely with colleagues in Pricing, Reserving, Planning and Data Insights and across various business units within our General Insurance Business. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior management to develop and refine the overall business strategy. Role Information We are recruiting a Planning and Profitability Manager to join our team. This role will work within our Actuarial Team. In this role you will manage a team of actuaries/analysts, and report to the Head of Actuarial Function. The position is based in Allianz House, Elmpark, Merrion Road, Dublin 4. Technical Responsibilities Manage and update the suite of profit testing tools to ensure accuracy and relevance. Develop new tools as needed to support evolving business requirements and industry best practices. Prepare and deliver performance reports for internal stakeholders and external parties. Analyze and interpret the performance data to provide insights and recommendations for improvement. Maintain and enhance existing profitability models to align with changing business needs and regulatory requirements. Implement improvements to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the models. Prepare periodic profitability reports with actionable recommendations for senior management at both local and Allianz Group levels. Communicate findings effectively to support decision-making processes. Collaborate with underwriting and finance teams to optimize actions and initiatives based on profitability analysis. Identify opportunities for improvement and provide data-driven recommendations. Participate in the annual planning process by providing input and analysis related to profitability and financial performance. Monitor actual versions planned experience and provide insights on the impact this will have on the financial results Support the development of strategic plans and financial targets and recommend actions to achieve them. Act as an advocate for technical excellence within the organization by sharing knowledge, best practices, and innovative approaches. Mentor and support colleagues to enhance technical skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Skills & Experience Required Essential Qualified Actuary/ (IFoA or equivalent) Minimum of 3-5 years PQE relevant work experience in actuarial roles within the General insurance industry In-depth understanding of the General Insurance market in Ireland, including key competitors, industry trends, and regulatory landscape. High level of technical ability, to include extensive modelling experience Competent in using SAS, Python, R, VBA, or other relevant software Advanced proficiency in MS Excel Experience of General Insurance financial planning, reserving or pricing Demonstrated experience in communicating and delivering technical solutions to business stakeholders Time management skills, the ability to plan and prioritise workload to maximise efficiency Desirable Competent in using RADAR, EMBLEM People Management experience Knowledge/experience of IFRS17 accounting standard Capital modelling experience Regulatory notice Appointment to this role will be subject to the requirements provided for by the Central Bank of Ireland.
