Responsibilities: Assuming overall responsibility for the design and implementation of the IT infrastructure for the company’s vessels:
- Leading a team of Vessel IT Support Engineers tasked with delivering remote support to vessels, their crews, and providing on-site assistance when required.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software components, including physical/virtual machines, laptops, printers, mobile devices, tablets, server/storage systems, and network equipment.
- Continuously monitoring system performance to ensure availability and reliability.
- Managing IT security measures and backup solutions.
- Collaborating with vendors, email service providers, and other IT professionals to address issues and handle new tasks as they arise.
- Offering after-hours and weekend support as part of an on-call rotation.
- Coordinating efforts with the onshore team to promote and enforce governance and compliance with IT policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Supporting vessel audits when necessary.
- Possession of a degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in vessel IT/OT.
- Proficiency in the deployment and maintenance of Vessel Sat-Com, PMS, Safety, Crewing applications, as well as vessel-related IT infrastructure, security, mail systems, and communication solutions. Familiarity with Airtime, Navigation, and other communication systems is essential.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications (Office 365, MS Windows server), with certifications being a valuable addition.
- Exposure to cyber security solutions, including their implementation and support.
- Skills in hardware troubleshooting, data cabling, and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- Understanding of ship automation systems is a significant advantage.
