LOCATION

This role is based in Ireland. We have an office space in Dublin city centre for those who prefer a hybrid model where you can spend time with colleagues in-person. If necessary, the role can be remote within Ireland with coming together for team meetings as needed.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

We have a matrixed structure here at Hostelworld; with Growth teams comprising of people across Technology, Product, Marketing and Analytics & Insights – all working towards one common goal and with aligned objectives. Our Growth units use an extensive range of data sources to track the full user journey to understand what is going well for our users, where we can optimise and what to build next. As the Mobile Analyst you will be key to these data driven decisions, working within our Mobile Growth unit, enabling the team to apply insights you derive from mobile/app analytics to improve customer experience. In this role, while you are embedded in the Mobile growth team, you are a member of the centralised Analytics team, reporting to the Head of Growth Analytics (with a dotted line to the Head of Mobile). The Analytics function will provide you with a range of supports to build out your analytics toolkit as well as membership with the Analytics Institute of Ireland.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will report directly into our Head of Growth Analytics and work with our Mobile Growth Team in discovering opportunities for growth in mobile native apps. This includes working with our product team to deliver insights from Firebase/Segment and driving action with our marketing executives with insights from Branch data.
  • Implement tracking and create user journey datasets using the data available to you from Branch, Google Analytics, Firebase, Segment etc.
  • Create insights and reporting on user journeys, user behaviours, and long-term trends in the adoption of our products to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Analyse the results of experiments to determine what should launch or not. Learn from and iterate on those experiments by identifying additional opportunities to drive growth
  • Keep the company up to date on overall user analytics metrics through dashboards and regular team updates.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish the highest business priorities and opportunities by measuring expected reach and impact.
  • Collaborate and share learnings with wider analytics team to ensure consistent analytics standards and rigour is applied to in all use cases.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years’ experience with quantitative data analysis.
  • 2+ years’ experience working collaboratively with product team members such as: product management, engineering, design, data science, data engineering etc.
  • 2+ years’ experience with product optimization i.e., funnel/website optimization and/or outbound communication channels like email or push notifications.
  • 3+ years direct experience using web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase, Branch, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Segment, etc) and other tools to extract, analyse, and visualize data.
  • Experience in making analytical, data-driven decisions and communicating the results of analyses.
  • Advanced SQL experience (querying both structured & unstructured data types)
  • Experience in statistics (e.g., hypothesis testing, product experimentation, regressions, experimentation logic and biases).
  • Highly analytical mindset with demonstrated ability to work through complex, ambiguous problems using data.
