The role will join Temasek's Community Stewardship (CS) team. The CS team supports Temasek's role as a Trusted Steward and is responsible for driving Temasek's community objectives connecting people, uplifting communities, protecting the planet and advancing capabilities in Singapore and beyond. The role reports to the VP of Community Stewardship and the ideal candidate for this role has strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and leverages a data-driven approach, identify trends and build analytics capabilities to generate meaningful insights for internal and external engagements. He/she should possess excellent project and time-management skills, experience navigating and influencing a cross-functional, matrixed organisation, and the ability to communicate and present information clearly to senior stakeholder. The role will form part of a pool of common resource within the CS, and tasks will be assigned in accordance to resource requirement. Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the management of a portfolio of Temasek's non-profit entities
    1. Support the execution of governance and engagement frameworks across the TNEs that would align stakeholders' interest and drive outcomes
    2. Lead the continuous analysis of the development of TNEs that could be affected by internal/ external elements as well as financial and non-financial matters
    3. Lead engagement between Temasek and respective TNEs, including supporting and enabling senior management to drive necessary outcomes
    4. Support the execution of Temasek donation strategies, including donations to TNEs and other not-for-profit parties, and lead refresh efforts where necessary
  • Supporting the execution of impact measurement and management framework across the Temasek ecosystem to shape effective decision-making
    1. Support the building of impact measurement operational capability to enable scaling across Temasek's philanthropic ecosystem
    2. Support the monitoring of progress, and be able to escalate issues where necessary
  • Monitoring and analysis of trends that support decision-making in shaping giving strategies
    1. Lead the identification of emerging global/local trends, best practices, opportunities and threats, that impact community needs, through engagement and research
    2. Support communication strategy internal engagements with senior stakeholders, generating actionable insights for internal and external stakeholder engagements.
    3. Augment existing frameworks/toolkits and build internal capabilities to monitor, analyse and anticipate the trends.
  • Support the development of strategic communication capabilities that would continue to position Temasek as a leader in philanthropy
    1. Support in the engagement of Temasek's ecosystem including corporates and non-profits to share insights and drive collaborative giving for impact
    2. Drive engagement of external global players in the industry; adapting and adopting best practices for Temasek and our ecosystem
  • Pilot new models of giving that would stretch impact of donation dollar
    1. Support the execution of new models of funding and partnerships for various initiatives.
    2. Drive appropriate funding in community to achieve impact first, through informed decision backed by data, research and analysis.
  • Others
    1. Contributing to, as a management team member, the wider Community Stewardship team through involvement in projects across workstreams.
    2. Assist the CS leadership team on tasks/projects as and when assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience in strategy consulting/advisory, corporate strategic planning, philanthropy fund management
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify the highest value priorities and develop strategies to pursue them
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness to work and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, to process changes in direction quickly while maintaining a high quality of output; embraces ambiguity
  • Clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesise multiple sources of information quickly, identify the key take-aways, and derive actionable insights
  • Strong skills in business writing and developing presentations for senior audiences
  • Balance attention to detail with timely execution
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently
  • Collaborator who is able to work well within diverse teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Has a passion for social causes
