  • 10 to 15+ year of experience in Structured Trade Finance/Project Finance in the energy space in Asia, ideally in a leading FI ( commercial bank, credit fund, PE firm) and/or a large industrial player (trading firms or oil majors)

  • Strong on structuring, modelling, due diligence etc with exposure to Energy/Natural Resource/Oil &Gas/ Metal Mining
Our client is a renowned and global commodity/ energy MNC based in town. It is a leader in the energy sector with a very sound reputation. For this role, we are looking for an experienced and strong calibre professional with 10 to 15+ years or more to join its Strategic Business Development team which covers corporate finance, project financing and debt financing work across Asia. Reporting to the CFO, you will be covering project financing and structured finance work in this team. Key requirements:
  • 10 to 15+ year of project finance/M&A/structured finance experience gained in the energy space in Asia ideally in a leading financial institution ( commercial bank s , credit fund s , PE firm s ) and/or a large commodity/ industrial player (trading firms or oil majors).
  • Structured Finance cands in the energy/natural resource space and/or Project Finance cands from oil and gas/ metal & mining are welcome.
  • Good understanding of the Energy landscape   in Asia
  • Ability to structure and execute complex transactions involving equity deployment and/or debt funding  at all levels of the capital structure
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating term sheets for structured trade transactions, asset funding, equity investments, etc
  • Experience in developing /building complex and new f inancial models (vs reviewing existing models)
  • Ability to execute debt and equity transactions : lead due diligence streams , interact with banks, legal counsels, consultants etc
  • Strong presentation skills to recommend transactions to investment and/or credit committees and prepare marketing materials for customers
  • Hands-on with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read/speak Mandarin is a plus given the coverage of the China market (but this is not a must)
  • Good facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Able to communicate with all levels of business, build rapport and work closely with cross functional stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a global MNC environment
  • Independent self-starter
  • Has a steady (i.e. not job hopping) and progressive career track record

  • For this role, you report to the CFO. No staff management is required.
  • Travel is required and one trip every 2 to 3 mths can be expected as a rough estimate.
