j What You Will Do:
- Oversee the comprehensive management of Microsoft SQL Server Instances and Sybase Data Servers, including but not limited to backup and recovery, high availability design, disaster recovery strategies, and replication.
- Conduct performance monitoring and tuning, script development, software installations and upgrades, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance of production databases.
- Lead multiple moderately complex projects and provide guidance to a team on special initiatives and operational tasks.
- Identify, troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate issues affecting systems, servers, and database-related products.
- Develop and maintain SQL profiler templates and PSSDIAG for monitoring and capturing slow or problematic queries, collaborating with Microsoft Engineers for in-depth analysis and root cause investigations.
- Administer and implement Microsoft SQL Server Instances, Sybase Data Servers, and database automation tools such as Datical (for SQL Script release), ART (for SQL Database failover/failback), and Optim (for Data archiving solution).
- Profound expertise in Microsoft SQL Server Instances, Database administration, and SQL Server components including Database Engine (SSDS), Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), and Analysis Services (SSAS) running on both standalone and clustered Windows servers.
- Strong comprehension and practical experience in Microsoft SQL Server installation, upgrade, database setup, and implementation of advanced SQL Server technologies such as SQL AlwaysOn, Database Mirroring, Log Shipping, SQL Replication, and Windows Standalone/Clustering using Storage-level replication for High availability and Disaster recovery.
- Demonstrated experience of 5-8 years in a SQL Server DBA Level 2 or 3 role.
- Proven track record in SQL Server Instance upgrades from lower to latest versions and database migrations between SQL Servers.
- Proficiency in utilizing SQL Server monitoring and troubleshooting/performance tools including SQLCMD, SQL Profiler, Database Import/Export, Database upgrade tool, and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Experience in addressing SQL database alerts/issues, managing capacity constraints, and optimizing performance-related matters.
