Job Summary: The Buyer will oversee the procurement & sourcing activities and planning of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. Responsibility: Prepare and release purchase orders for production materials, shop floor stock items and any other purchases to support business operations. Pre-Qualified the vendors. Monitor purchase order deliveries to ensure on-time delivery. Procure all Raw materials, Castings, Forgings, Round Bar and Shapes to NOV specifications. Analize and issue P.O.’s for outside services (OSP). Floating RFQ Initiate a cost saving project for the direct materials. Maintain the standard payment terms. Maintain material traceability data, documents, MTR’s, Lot Numbers. etc. Develop new vendors. Analyse cost, efficiency, and quality of vendors. Review on a regular basis cost savings, vendor performance, late purchase orders, job close variances, and inventory levels. Work with MRP System within EBS to develop Purchase Order timeframe. Act as liaison to other Departments. Responsible for managing third party and intercompany orders and their timely procurement to allow for customer deliveries. Maintain data relevant to all intercompany sources. BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED BS/BE Degree desired; Fresh Graduated. Strong technical knowledge of commodities and related procured material Ability to coordinate and execute multiple projects simultaneously with the capacity to work independently. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demand. Strong Analytical skills, Organizational and problem-solving skills, develop understanding of technical documentation and standards- Drawings, Specs. Etc. Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems; especially proficient in the use of Excel Familiarization with manufacturing and service environment Strong professional relationship building skills, and ability to interface across the entire enterprise (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, PM&L, Trade Compliance, Accounting, etc.) Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Excellent communication abilities Experience in an Engineered-to-Order or Make-to-Order manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with ERP Planning preferred.
