About the Role This is a full-time role for a Estimation Engineer located in Kuwait City. As an Estimation Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the estimation team in preparing accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for construction projects. You will work closely with senior estimators, tendering and proposals manager, engineers and suppliers to gather relevant information and develop comprehensive bid packages. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimation preferably in oil and gas sector, with a proven track record of successfully bidding and winning projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimating software/tools is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have valid residency in Kuwait.
- Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and other bid documents to understand project requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and material quantity calculations based on project plans and specifications.
- Research material and labor costs, subcontractor rates, and equipment rental prices to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, for inclusion in bid proposals.
- Input cost data into estimating software and spreadsheets to generate pricing summaries and cost breakdowns.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop technical proposals and bid documents that meet client requirements and specifications.
- Analyze historical cost data and industry benchmarks to identify cost trends and develop cost models for similar projects.
- Evaluate alternative materials, methods, and technologies to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative solutions.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information, clarify scope of work, and solicit bids.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to gather project information and establish relationships with stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bid documents, and project-related correspondence.
- Generate reports and summaries of bid submissions, including cost breakdowns, pricing analysis, and bid results.
- Support post-bid activities, such as bid clarifications, negotiations, and value engineering workshops.
