the Duties:
- Act independently, with the advice of a Senior Physiotherapist to assess, analyze, and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.
- Act independently, with the advice of a Senior Physiotherapist to plan, implement, evaluate, treat, and progress patient care to maximize rehabilitation potential.
- Advance treatment progression of patients with the advice of the Senior Physiotherapist as needed.
- Independently manage a caseload of patients effectively and efficiently, utilizing the advice of a Senior Physiotherapist as needed.
- Ability to examine and treat specific conditions across a range of orthopedic situations at a proficient level
- Provide moderate input into the development of assessment and treatment protocols.
- Contribute to evidence-based practice in the department at a proficient level (ex. Participate in protocol reviews).
- Participate in physiotherapy and team in-service training to promote personal development.
- Agree on a discharge planning of patients, with advice from the Senior Physiotherapist.
- Assist Senior Physiotherapist with staff continuing education.
- Provide in-service briefing following attendance at a course or conference.
- Maintain a proficient standard of ethical and professional behavior when treating and dealing with patients.
- Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system to promote personal and service developments.
- Liaise with Senior Physiotherapists to gain support and direction in the management of their caseload.
- Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and care delivery.
- Participate in clinical audits to support the physiotherapy service clinical governance strategy.
- Communicate and recommend to relevant staff disciplines to maximize patient care and promote multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Maintain patient documentation, records, and accurate statistical information to reflect the care provided and meet professional standards.
- Independent charting using Cerner.
- Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor.
- Attend and complete competencies that focus on patient safety initiatives implemented within the Clinic
- Patient Safety Training is an annual requirement, to include all organizational leaders, staff, service and contracted providers.
- 4-8 years of orthopedic facility experience.
- Ability to multi-task and to work with frequent interruptions.
- Meticulous and pays attention to detail.
- Ability to establish good working relationships and to work within a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- A sports physiotherapy background would be advantageous.
- A master’s degree in physiotherapy is desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy or equivalent required.
- Registered with home country Physiotherapy Association.
- Evidence of recent Continued Professional development in orthopedic physiotherapy.
- Evidence of ability to manage orthopedic caseloads independently.
- Personal insight and reflection skills and is aware of own strengths and weaknesses.
- Orthopedic physiotherapy assessment and treatment skills and knowledge.
- Team Worker.
- Good Communicator.
- Computer skills.
- English Language (written and spoken).
