- Provide an in-house mechanical design and manufacturing/prototype capability to support the propulsion development programs of the Air Power Department
- Put together a team of technicians that will service a range of tasks from brazing, soldering, operating a high speed balancing machine, operate and maintain environmental chambers, perform fitment of bearings and shafts, design, assemble and work with custom tools and jigs.
- Undertake design and support work throughout the life-cycle of the system under development, for all phases of conceptual design, preliminary design, detail design and development, manufacture, production, end-use support and phase-out/disposal
- Perform precise engineering calculations using theoretical methods as well as computational simulations
- Work with suppliers to produce high precision and quality designed and manufactured components within the schedule of the project.
- Organization of engineering arrangements to meet the objectives of the department.
- Revise designs based on the latest technology in manufacturing and material science.
- Optimization of designed parts for manufacturability using innovative approaches to design
- Lead, mentor and coach lower level technicians in related disciplines.
- Establish test specifications and procedures to ensure that all design requirements are met
- At least 15 years (NTC5), 13 years. (T3), 11 years. (T4 / B.Tech) or 7 years. (M.Tech) of related experience, preferably, in the aerospace industry
- At least 10 years of Test and Evaluation experience, in the aerospace or defense industry
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to precision-guided munition air power systems.
- Extensive knowledge of the required hardware and software tools necessary to implement a propulsion capability
