Title: Staff Rust Developer Location: Remote Type: Full-time Workplace: remote Category: Protocol Job Description: What is Polygon Labs? Polygon Labs develops Ethereum scaling solutions for Polygon protocols. Polygon Labs engages with other ecosystem developers to help make available scalable, affordable, secure and sustainable blockchain infrastructure for Web3. Polygon Labs has initially developed a growing suite of protocols for developers to gain easy access to major scaling solutions, including layer 2s (zero-knowledge rollups and optimistic rollups), sidechains, hybrid chains, app-specific chains, enterprise chains, and data availability protocols. Scaling solutions that Polygon Labs initially developed have seen widespread adoption with tens of thousands of decentralized apps, unique addresses exceeding 225 million, over 1.2 million smart contracts created and 2.56 billion total transactions processed since inception. The existing Polygon network is home for some of the biggest Web3 projects, such as Aave, Uniswap, and OpenSea, and well-known enterprises, including Robinhood, Stripe and Adobe. Polygon Labs is carbon neutral with the goal of leading Web3 in becoming carbon negative. Job Summary Polygon Labs is looking for an experienced Rust developer to join the team building Plonky2 to help move the project into production. This person will be working on novel problems in the Zero Knowledge space and should be comfortable stepping into the unknown from time to time to solve hard problems as we’re breaking new ground. Key Job Responsibilities
- Implementing the code needed to interact with Plonky2
- Building scalable and secure systems in rust
- Performing code reviews
- Mentoring junior team members
- Designing the architecture for future projects

- Implementing a new feature for the Plonky2 integration in rust
- Reviewing open pull requests
- Reviewing architectures for future projects
- Researching a solution to a new problem
- A distributed rust team working on novel problems in the ZK space
- Our main focus in the coming years is all around ZK technology, and you will be at the center of it
- Previous experience with Rust is required (2+ years)
- Previous experience with distributed systems
- Knowledge of Ethereum internals is helpful
- A basic understanding of zero knowledge proofs is helpful
- A degree in a technical field is preferred
