At our client's organization, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations are integral to their investment approach. Our client integrates ESG Analysts directly into their investment teams to collaborate closely with their portfolio managers. As our client expand their presence in Singapore to engage more deeply with Asian companies and enhance their service to clients in Southeast Asia, we are seeking an ESG Analyst to join our client's team. In this role, you will provide tailored ESG analysis to various investment teams, conduct company engagement on significant ESG issues, and interact with clients and stakeholders on ESG matters. This position reports functionally to the Senior ESG Analyst (with over 20 years of experience) in Singapore and operationally to the CEO. Responsibilities: Research, Analysis, and Engagement:
- Conducting ESG/Impact research for investment teams, focusing on issues that could impact investment decisions or present significant opportunities or challenges for the business. This includes analysis of existing holdings, pre-purchase research, and industry or country analysis.
- Formulating and executing engagement plans for investment portfolios in alignment with investment team priorities and our client's firmwide commitments.
- Initiating dialogue with the management and board of investment holdings regarding relevant ESG/Impact issues, taking the lead on engagements when necessary.
- Coordinating with the ESG Services team regarding important shareholder meetings.
- Collaborating with ESG, Impact, and Investment colleagues across the investment floor to exchange knowledge and enhance our client's ESG-related analysis and engagement efforts.
- Participating in departmental projects and contributing to firmwide research initiatives as needed.
- Supporting external communications and client interactions, potentially delivering internal and external presentations on key ESG topics.
- Improving client reporting on ESG factors.
- Staying informed about relevant industry and ESG developments through ongoing professional development and sharing important updates with the team.
- Pursuing regulated ESG qualifications and developing basic investment literacy.
- Showcase strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret complex information effectively.
- Work independently, showing initiative in their approach.
- Capable of managing priorities dynamically while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in producing comprehensive written research and reports meeting the expectations of Investment teams.
- Establish enduring relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
