Deal Accountant role with international energy/commodity trading MNC

• Min 5 years of relevant exp in product/deal accounting or auditing covering commodity trading in oil, gas, power trading etc
• External Big 4 auditors who have exp doing audits for commodity trading firms are welcome to apply
• Hands-on exp doing the accounting relating to commodity trading activities, budget monitoring and P&L statements is relevant

Our client is a renowned and global commodity trading MNC based in town. It offers good perks and attractive var bonus for good performers. The MNC is now looking to hire a hands-on deal accountant to support its energy trading (physical and paper) business. For this role, you report to the senior deal accountant with dotted line to the accounting manager (both with more than 15 yrs of exp). Job Description

• Works closely with the accounting team, other departments and overseas colleagues to ensure a smooth closing of accounts of companies managed in Singapore.
• Assists in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials to Head Office. This includes preparation of year-end report packages, financial statements and schedules for statutory reporting.
• Involves in accounting related to trading activities, budget monitoring and ensures accuracy of profit and loss.
• Handles accounting related queries and issues on a timely basis.
• Assists in statistics and survey preparation and submission as and when required.
• Assists in audit confirmation preparation.
• Complies with company policies, internal control procedures and accounting standards.
• Assists in the UAT (User acceptance testing) in relation to system enhancements.
• Perform accounting and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Accounting Degree or equivalent
• Min 5 years of relevant exp in product/deal accounting or auditing covering commodity trading in oil, gas, power trading etc. External Big 4 auditors who have exp doing audits for commodity trading firms covering these products are welcome to apply
• Hands-on exp doing the accounting relating to commodity trading activities, budget monitoring and P&L statements is relevant
• Proactive, flexible and team player
• Rigorous, committed and good organization skills;
• Strong analytical skills
• Good communications skills and able to interact with other people
• Good working knowledge of FRS and IFRS a plus
