Are you committed to cultural competency & the respectful and positive engagement with First Nations clients & communities? We are seeking a permanent full-time Senior Case Manager to join our Mount Isa team. Community Corrections is responsible for supervising adults subject to Community Based Orders and/or Parole. We aim to protect the community & reduce re-offending by supervising clients & supporting them to achieve meaningful change.Northern Region is committed to diversity, professional maturity & creativity in a complex and evolving practice of Human Services. This position plays a key role in implementing the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Strategy and progressing the recommendations in the ‘Not Now, Not Ever' report within the Mount Isa Specialist DFV Court. You will represent Queensland Corrective Services by working collaboratively with key stakeholders to assist in the coordination and promotion of victim safety and perpetrator accountability. In addition, this role supervises offenders subject to community based supervision who have a DFV offending profile. Knowledge of the dynamics of DFV is crucial to this role inclusive of specific legislation. The Senior Case Manager ensures a high level of community safety through the effective case management of clients within the community addressing their assessed risks & needs. You will play a vital role in protecting the community, working as part of a dedicated team, you will act as an agent of change to address offending behaviour & encourage rehabilitation, making our communities safer. Experience & skills: •Able to demonstrate experience working within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area. •Able to work self-sufficiently and be confident in your own professional discretion, reasoning, judgement and decision making skills prior to seeking management validation. •Able to demonstrate previous experiences of fostering a new relationship and receiving positive reinforcement in return to demonstrate the relationship was well developed. •Communicate professionally and engages with respect with colleagues, offenders, management and stakeholders. Experience in working collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. •Ability to embrace diversity and maximise the whole range of skills and differences available within the workforce. Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements: • Possession of a degree relevant for the human services or criminology fields such as Law, Justice, Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Business and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies • Individuals employed on a permanent or temporary basis will be required to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community). All activities and assessments associated with the Certificate IV are to be completed within 12 months of commencing their employment, and certification achieved within 18 months. • The incumbent may be required to travel on official business and the possession of a C class licence is required, and will be mandatory in specific locations where it is identified as essential by the hiring panel.
