Our client is seeking a 12D Civil Designer with 5+ years’ experience to join their team and participate in the growth of their Design and Drafting team. The role will involve:
- Design and Drafting of multi-disciplinary projects including: Culverts, Pipe Networks, Creek Rehabilitation, Detention Basins, Dams, Erosion and Sediment Control Works, Bulk Earthworks; Civil Infrastructure including Roads and Retaining Walls
- Preparation of construction documentation
- Review of drafting documentation
- Supporting and approving associated technical work directly related to the discipline
- Playing an active role in the business groups through regular meetings, workshops, training and business planning
- Associate degree (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in 12d design and AutoCad
- 5+ years of experience in design documentation of civil and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, with experience in some or all of the following areas considered favourably: Civil Infrastructure, Roads, Drainage, Culverts, Pipe Networks, Creek Rehabilitation, Erosion and Sediment Control, Stormwater Networks, Bioretention Systems, Haul Roads, Levees, Ponds, Diversions, Bulk Earthworks
- Key skills: road layout design, road and earthworks pad design, open channel drainage, site layout planning, pit and pipe drainage
- Familiarity with applicable legislation and technical standards / guidelines
- Ability to define problems and relevant constraints and risks and discuss with Engineers
- Efficiently assist other designers with advice on potential solutions based on previous experience
- Capable of coaching junior designers to define problems, constraints, and risks, and to develop fit-for-purpose solutions to engineering problems
- Capable of coaching junior drafters on how to develop concise, clear and accurate drawings
- Ability to develop complex AutoCad drawings with no supervision and minimal editing / rework required
