The opportunity we have available We are seeking a proactive, inquisitive and creative Communications professional to join our Executive Communication team. The team is responsible for supporting our Secretary and Executive Leadership Team with their communication, including developing engaging strategies, drafting written materials, crafting talking points and producing videos. You will join a mixed team of internal communication and change management professionals, who are passionate about delivering interesting, accessible and informative communication. The team is focused on aligning our department’s communication to match our culture and values, and supporting a united voice through our communication materials that articulates this vision to all staff. As the APS6 Executive Communication Officer, some of your main responsibilities will include:- Drafting regular communication from the Secretary and other members of the Executive Leadership Team
- Drafting and implementing communication strategies for the Executive on their key focus areas
- Developing a regular video and event series, including identifying topics of interest
- Tracking and reporting on communication across the department
- Working closely with your Assistant Director to deliver a new culture program in conjunction with other Corporate teams
- Working closely with Executive and their offices to deliver timely and accurate communication
- Supporting the broader section with delivering internal communication campaigns and events.
- Communicate to a high standard in both written and verbal formats.
- Develop high quality communication strategies that distil high-level information into digestible and meaningful information.
- Tailor communication materials to a variety of channels, and for a variety of audiences.
- Think strategically , including evaluating information from a variety of sources to make connections and sound decisions while exercising good judgement.
- Collaborate effectively across diverse teams , valuing different perspectives, contributions and backgrounds.
- Be inquisitive and proactive in understanding client needs, approaching work tasks, and supporting the broader section.
- Be able to work effectively in a changing environment or in ambiguity.
