Description: Marine Assistant Broker - Cape Town, South Africa The Marsh Marine Team in the Western Cape is looking for a Marine Assistant Broker. The successful applicant will work within a dedicated team to provide a broad range of services in relation to an existing portfolio of local clients. You will initially be responsible for providing support to other members of the Team as may be required. Your role will encompass all aspects relating to the Marine Insurance Team including, but not necessarily limited to, Client Servicing, Broking, Claims Handling and general administrative related tasks. The objective is that you receive "on the job" training to enable you to eventually be allocated a portfolio of clients which will involve managing renewals, invoicing, identifying client needs, mid-term adjustments and generally handling any queries that arise in a quick and professional manner. We appreciate that you may require training an guidance during the initial stages and this will be provided. Provide back-up support to more senior staff members in respect of both broking and client servicing tasks. As regards administrative tasks these will include (but are not limited to) invoicing, credit control, dealing with accounts queries, claims related work. Gain an understanding of New Business procedures and practices and provide support when required. Attend and support client visits as required or requested What you need to have:  Ambitious and inquisitive nature Team player Awareness of Clients' businesses Good communication skills (oral and written) Strong administration skills with attention to detail Analytical and problem-solving skills Good organizational skills, ability to manage multiple enquiries Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Build and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and markets Maintain a sound diary system Energetic and enthusiastic Passionate about customer service Positive attitude Self-starter with initiative Collaborative and team player Willingness to learn and pursue Insurance-related studies Familiarity and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements What makes you stand out: Experience in the insurance industry (3 years) Experience and/or interest in marine insurance Qualifications: FAIS Compliant, University Degree, Insurance Related Certification(s)
