About the opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to partner with Corporate & Commercial business functions at Lactalis Canada (Client group that is approx. 250 employees, non-union). The role will report into the Director, Human Resources, be a member of the Extended HR Leadership team and will work on various HR transformational initiatives in collaboration with the OD, Total Rewards, Labour Relations and Talent Acquisition. You will be responsible for providing all aspects of human resources support to your client groups that align with our organizational growth objectives. In addition, you will play a pivotal role supporting the development and execution of HR initiatives such as: establishing workforce planning & succession planning framework, coaching leaders through performance & talent management applying best practice standards, development of policies and procedures and supporting establishing new HR technologies/process optimization initiatives.

The attributes we are looking for: Provides leadership and consulting support in areas of change management, teambuilding, conflict resolution, performance management, progressive discipline, talent management, talent acquisition, compensation and employee development to support a culture of highly functioning teams.

Influences Leadership teams to strategically execute employee management efforts, in the areas of succession planning and organizational development. This will ensure that we always have the right plans in place to develop, retain and grow, training & development, employee engagement, change management and organizational development.

Proactively identifies employee trends or issues and advises managers on appropriate actions and solutions. Creates positive employee relations by executing on HR strategy and addressing complex performance management and employee issues.

Collaborates with managers in the performance management review process by providing insight on effective objective setting, delivering on-going feedback and providing useful tools on conducting performance management and development reviews. Consults on difficult performance management issues, such as, performance improvement plans, exit strategies and conflict resolution. Manages terminations and partner with legal counsel to mitigate risks.

Leads workforce planning and partners with the Talent Acquisition team for all recruitment activities for client groups. Owns decisions on talent assessment and influences leaders to make the right choices. Conducts exit interviews with departing employees and identify key trends and action plans.

Provides guidance and recommendations to managers in the job evaluation, salary management process, incentive program, employee benefit programs recruitment and selection, performance management and people development, employee relations, disability management, compensation & benefits.

Remains current on all Human Rights, Employment Standards and all relevant legislative Acts in relevant provinces and recommend policy or process improvements as a result of update or new legislation.

Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating and recommending human resources policies and procedures. Ensuring standardization of policies/practices and supporting roll out.

Leads organizational design with department heads to leverage talent and drive results. Provide guidance and consulting support to Leaders on a suitable talent planning strategy for their respective teams. Negotiate with Leaders the most appropriate talent planning decisions which best support the strategy.

Participates in annual budgets, strategic plans, estimates, forecasts, statistics, analysis and financial information in conjunction with ongoing business. Determines needs for each business unit in collaboration with the Executive team member.

Participates in HR transformation projects such as new process implementations, new HR technology, organizational design projects that support the ongoing priorities and long-term strategies of the organization.

What you will bring: University degree in Human Resources or Business.

CHRP Designation would be considered an asset.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Human Resources Manager role within an international CPG company, preferably in Business Partnership, and a Centre of Excellence role such as Organizational Development, Training, Compensation or Talent Acquisition.

Employee Engagement/Relations - Work with leaders to develop and implement broad-based employee engagement solutions. Investigate and resolve employee relations issues.

HR Operations - Perform operational/tactical human resources activities as required. Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting comply.

Matrix Management - Able to manage multiple highly complex business functions and understand their unique needs

Strong consulting skills -with the ability to constructively challenge others.
