You will be given FREE leadership training, and mentoring, and all uniform is provided. There is no personal cost to you to volunteer.   • Have a passion to inspire girls and young women to reach their full potential and learn new skills
  • Be encouraging, assertive, and patient
  • Be a hands-on leader and learner
  • Meet new people and become part of a worldwide network
During the school term, our GGNZ leaders:
  • Attend a weekly session (in person) for up to two hours
  • Helping plan the term’s activities and deliver them to the girls
  • Complete occasional evening/weekend training as required
  • Attend occasional leader/planning meetings, and trips or camps
No experience is needed, but we need reliable volunteers, and previous experience working with youth is an advantage. GirlGuiding New Zealand's health and safety policy also has requirements around adult-to-child ratios, so we require you to be older than 18. A Police background check is required for this role. Time commitment: We are currently recruiting for Leader in two unit which are: 6th Matamata Rangers - Meets Tuesday's 5:15 - 7pm during school term time Matamata Brownies - Meets Monday's 4 - 5:30pm during school term time Aside from weekly meetings there is the occasional event or camp held on weekends and some planning time is required, so you can expect to spend between 2-4 hours per week volunteering. We also require a minimum six month commitment.
