Project Engineer -(Capital Projects), Cork An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Engineer based in Cork. The successful candidate will have several years of Capital Delivery experience in healthcare or similar Industry. The Project Engineer will be a key member of the Capital Project Team responsible for installation of new Mechanical Plant, Electrical Infrastructure, Medical Equipment, refurbishment of existing facilities and implementation of new strategic projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record to lead project delivery efforts and to influence others, be a convincing communicator with strong interpersonal skills and strategic and tactical thinking abilities. Have technical knowledge and capability in delivery of Cleanroom/HVAC/E&I, equipment and utilities systems. • Reporting into the Group Director of Capital Projects, the key responsibilities will include: • Taking ownership of the planning, safe execution, and delivery of capital projects onsite • Working with all stakeholders on site to ensure effective delivery with as little interruption to operations as possible • Identify and resource external contractors capable of delivering complex capital projects • Oversee all aspects of ongoing projects, including inspections of works and delivery within budget • Participate in annual project forecasting meetings and participate in the ongoing development of the capital improvement plan for the site • It will require someone with the practical mindset to understand how the site will flow after delivery of the project. • To be considered, the ideal candidate should have: • Third level engineering degree preferably with Mechanical and Electrical accreditations • Proven level of experience in delivering Capital Projects • Understands the typical project life cycle from concept through to handover and has proven experience in this area. • Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of the customer/client relationship involved in projects • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Detail focused. Each capital spend in this facility needs to work seamlessly post delivery meaning a detail focused approach is crucial during the planning and execution phase.
