Job Summary:  The Senior Fund Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial management activities for multiple real estate private equity investment funds managed by Carmel Partners and/or Fund Administrators. These activities include real estate investment fund accounting, maintaining adequate controls, and regular financial tracking and reporting. Additionally, the Senior Fund Accountant will be responsible for reviewing operating and development property financials prepared by other accounting groups and ensuring appropriate adjustments are made to roll up into the consolidated fund financials.   Responsibilities:    Performs all day-to-day financial inputting, tracking and management, including maintaining of adequate controls for multiple Real Estate Investment Funds. Applies appropriate accounting techniques (consistent with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, GAAP) and standard practices when inputting, tracking, analyzing, reconciling and reporting on their designated accounts of responsibility Works with property management’s accounting team and/or third parties, which includes reviewing: Financials prepared by third party providers Accounting Schedules Monthly bank reconciliations   Performs and reviews month-end closings for fund level entities and underlying operating and development entities Reviews monthly construction financials and maps them into Company’s books Reviews Fund Accounting records on a US GAAP basis Independently resolves routine Fund Accounting/property accounting/construction accounting matters Assists with annual audits and tax return preparation Attends work as scheduled to support the ongoing success of the company   Requirements:   Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting or Finance 6+ years’ experience in accounting, remote work experience preferred In-depth knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Previous experience in Real Estate, Real Estate Fund Investment Accounting or related field preferred (multi-family experience a plus) Must have extensive knowledge of computers, Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other applicable accounting software Previous experience with Oracle and Yardi accounting software is a plus Previous experience in public accounting is a plus Solid, proactive communication skills (written and verbal)—comfortable in all the tools of digital communication ( email, chat/IM, online meetings such as Zoom , collaboration tools and fileshares, such as Teams, OneNote, etc.) Required to work in the US Pacific Time Zone Must have Fiber Optic internet with at least 25 Mbps bandwidth Must have a backup desktop or laptop with the latest OS Booth & Partners started in 2013 with a vision to provide businesses from all around the world with their own full-time, first-rate offshore team in the Philippines.
