Position Overview An IT Procurement Staff plays a crucial role in an organization's information technology (IT) department. Their primary responsibility is to provide technical assistance and support to employees or customers who are experiencing IT-related issues or problems. They will be the front line of IT support within an organization, ensuring that IT systems run smoothly, and that employees or customers have a positive experience when seeking technical assistance. Their role is essential in maintaining productivity and minimizing downtime caused by IT- related issues. WHAT WILL YOU DO? IT Troubleshooting, Hardware and Software Setup:
- Attend to Incidents or Request from employees or interns.
- Gather information about the issue, such as error messages or specific symptoms.
- Determine if it's a hardware or software problem.
- Setup computer equipment for new employees or intern.
- Ensure the operating system and software are up to date by applying updates and patches.
- Install applications or IT hardware equipment.
- Identify and evaluate potential IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchases.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and monitor their performance.
- Coordinate the procurement of IT equipment, software licenses, and services in line with organizational needs.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procurement policies.
- Track and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Collaborate with the IT department to develop and manage the IT procurement budget.
- Monitor expenses and seek cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor communications.
- Evaluate the quality and suitability of products and services received from vendors.
- Address and resolve issues related to defective or subpar purchases.
- Stay updated on industry trends, IT products, and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain Management, or any IT related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in IT procurement or a related role.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, regulations, and contract management.
- Familiarity with IT products, hardware, software, licensing models and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
