Job Description Mission
The Senior Engineer will be called upon to work on the hydrology and hydraulic structures, and river and coastal development projects as part of a multidisciplinary team in our energy sector. Projects are in a variety of sectors, such as hydroelectric production, flood protection, transportation, wildlife development, port development, etc. You will be able to work from one of our offices in the Montreal, Quebec City, or Eastern Townships regions, and you may also have the possibility of working from home on a hybrid basis.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct studies related to river hydraulics, such as hydrological studies, determination of design flows, hydrogeomorphology, sediment transport studies, floodplain mapping, etc.
Model and simulate the hydraulics of watercourses and hydraulic installations using specialized software (1D, 2D, and 3D)
Design hydraulic installations such as spillways, retention basins, canals, bridges, culverts, penstocks, etc.
Carry out dam safety studies
Assess the impact of climate change on various infrastructures
Plan and carry out field surveys
Participate in multidisciplinary coordination
Take charge of clients, projects or batches
Write and check technical reports and contribute to the development of plans and specifications
Participate in the preparation of service agreements
Qualifications
University Degree in civil engineering or equivalent
Master's Degree in hydrology or hydraulics with academic training in modeling (an asset)
Experience in hydrogeomorphology (an asset)
Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
More than ten (10) years of experience in the field of river and/or coastal hydraulics
Fluency in spoken and written French
Fluency in spoken and written English in a professional context to ensure communications on certain projects
