Job DescriptionTheMetallic Structures/SFT Technician will report to the Metallic Structures/SFTSupervisor and will be an experienced and mechanical skilled technician. Theywill have the ability to use diagnostic techniques and undertake a range ofdetailed maintenance activities in the metallic structures bay and thesupersonic fuel tank bay. They will be responsible for maintainingairworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on MetallicStructures and SFT activities.The post holderrequires a good understanding of the construct of the approved TechnicalInformation set and is competent to work unaided to approved data, maintenanceinstructions and in accordance with the organisation's Maintenance OrganisationExposition (MOE). Demonstrates the ability to analyse and diagnose faults toequipment & assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectivelywithin a team provide guidance to less experienced team members in a diverseand dynamic operational environmentUndertaking detailed maintenanceand inspection activities on the metallic structures and SFT components.Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the Workpackage using the relevant approved technical information with an awarenessof configuration management. Resolving faults and maintenance issuesReviewingoperational performance of aircraft components & systems. Analyse anddiagnose faults to components & assemblies, apply diagnostic skills &knowledge to effect repairs or modify equipment or suggest improvements toproceduresEnsuringthat maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalateas requiredUndertaking and complete tasked maintenance& diagnostic activities on the metallic structures/SFT components whichmay include, as appropriate: component removals, inspections, repairs,modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/systemtestDemonstrate a flexible andproactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the roleand takes direction appropriatelyMaintaining personal taskauthorisation for working on an aircraft or componentsProgress reporting againstdelivery targets to the supervisor/ controllerMaintaining a personal Log Book todemonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT)activitiesUndertaking support tasks withinthe metallic structures/SFT bay facility which are required to maintaincompliance with the MOE (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling/testequipment)Undertaking fault evaluation and raise adhoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenanceRequirementsCompletionof an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, orMilitary equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academicqualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (on a/c requirement)Requiresbroad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within owntechnical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with othersin order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates anunderstanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and itsapplicationDemonstratingbreadth of systems experience, currency & recency via a Log Book(electronic or paper) capturing skills, knowledge and authorities forworking on Aircraft or in workshops.
