ACS International Schools is recruiting an IT Infrastructure and Security Engineer, taking responsibility for the support and operations of secure and highly available IT systems, platforms, servers, and networks, providing 3rd Line technical support to the school and project delivery.The role will be a hybrid of BAU support and project delivery, with a 50/50 split across the two. Project work will include help designing, planning and implementing upgrades, new system installations and ensuring best practice in cloud management and cyber security is followed.Main Responsibilities:• Customer Service and End User Support• Modify, install, maintain and upgrade organisation-wide computer networks• Configuration and maintenance of network routers, hubs and patch panel installations• Support with the deployment of new technologies and solutions, along with design, installation, configuration, maintenance and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks and hardware• Troubleshoot problems and be the point of escalation for the 1st and 2nd line roles in the team• Make recommendations and implement network upgrades, with a focus on security and safety• Maintain server rooms and data cabinets to a high standard ensuring cabling is neat and documentation is current• Cable management including patching, crimping, terminating and relocating network points• Help with the management, maintenance and administration of the VoIP telephone system including the provision of new handsets and telephone directory maintenance• Administration of organisation-wide Internet filtering systems via firewalls and dedicated solutions• Managing and supporting VMWare virtual machines and Hyper-V Virtual machines, including maintaining the most recent versions and security updates• Managing and supporting Active Directory including DC architecture, ADFS, DirSync, File Services and RDS• Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders for development projects• Maintain and align IT strategy in line with business requirements• Create documentation of organisation-wide Network and Server configurations• Lead the team with the provision of Cyber Security, being the go-to for questions and guidance• Produce and maintain good quality security artefacts, acting as counsel and oversight for security monitoring/maintenance• Lead, with the assistance of the team continuing good practice relating to information management, security and protection, and ensuring 3rd party suppliers achieve standards in line with ACS policy• Assist in establishing and maintaining processes, tooling and metrics that help provide a high level of productivity, supportability, and operational readiness.• Configure and develop SIEM tooling, and associated tool sets, to deliver effective and efficient SOC services through automation and orchestration, and to increase MTTD whilst reducing false positives and negatives.• Ensure all security platforms are optimised to detect and prevent security threats across all on-prem and cloud environments to meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.• Provide technical oversight and support for the identification, triage and response to events or incidents of a suspicious or malicious nature, and apparent security breaches.Key Skills & Experience:• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certified or equivalent experience• Windows Server installation and support experience• Exchange Server Hybrid installation and support experience• Active Directory configuration, setup and management (Hybrid)• Office 365 and MS Azure Administration• Cyber security experience• One or more of the following industry certifications: CEH, GCIA, GCIH, GSEC, Security+, GCTI• Technical experience in a Security Operations Centre, Incident Response Team or similar environment• Experience with a variety of SIEM platforms, ideally Azure Sentinel, and monitoring tools, configuration management tools, host virtualisation, containerisation, vulnerability scanners, proxies, WAFs• Strong technical skills with experience in intrusion analysis and investigation using a variety of security tools (SIEM, EDR, DLP, AV, Snort, Wireshark, TCPdump etc.)• Creation of IT Systems documentation• Experience of working with virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, HyperV• Expert knowledge of desktop technologies and peripherals• Excellent knowledge of storage solutions such as NAS, SANs and iSCSI implementations• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory including DC architecture, ADFS, DirSync, File Services, RDS, etc.Based at ACS Head Office (Cobham) with regular travel to other campuses including possible requirement to travel internationally to Doha, Qatar. Collaborative working across all campuses, with a range of both IT staff, teachers and students striving to delivery excellence within education.
