Graphic Designer (Data Visualization)

Our Mission Visual Capitalist is on a mission to 'Make the World’s Data More Accessible'. We started out in 2011 with the belief that art, data, and storytelling can be combined to make complex issues more digestible. Today, we’ve become a leading media company with over 8 million monthly site visitors. On top of that, in late 2023 we launched Voronoi, the world’s first mobile media platform focused on facts, not opinions. Since then, Voronoi has grown to over 50,000 users across Android and iOS, and holds the title as the 5th most-funded app of all time on Kickstarter. The Role We’re looking for a graphic designer to join our Original Content (OC) team. This is a focused, 7-person team responsible for creating several graphics per day on a range of topics including business, financial markets, and more. The ideal candidate has proven experience in the medium of data visualizations, and can absorb new information quickly, distilling it in a way that is visually compelling yet easy to understand. Designers on our OC team work closely with the Senior Editor, and are generally responsible for one visualization per day. All of the team’s output is optimized for a mobile audience, and will be published on both Voronoi and Visualcapitalist.com. Experience: You have experience designing content that is centered around data. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Flourish, or other relevant software is a must. Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge in specialized areas such as animation, generative AI, etc. can be valuable
• Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) principles and creating designs that are optimized for online visibility

Compensation The salary range for this position is $46,000-$58,000. The actual salary will be based on various factors, including the candidate’s level of skill and past experience, aligned with the needs of the role, budget, and market.
