Our client is an infrastructure investment and development catalyst dedicated to leveraging partnerships for value investing in Africa s infrastructure. Due to expansion they are currently in need of a GENERAL MANAGER for one of their subsidiaries a power solution company in Asaba Delta. This role will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the power plant including operations maintenance health and safety liaising with regulatory agencies and managing relationships with regulatory bodies for the Company s business operations. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic business objectives policies and plans aligned with company and business unit strategic goals.
  • Foster and maintain trust relationships with shareholders business partners and government authorities through effective communication.
  • Provide oversight of the company s financial performance investments and business ventures.
  • Serve as the public spokesperson and representative of the company enhancing its public image and profile.
  • Implement action plans utilizing strong management skills to achieve objectives and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Supervise all activities related to the costeffective and safe operation and maintenance of the Power Plant.
  • Ensure occupational health and safety standards for all individuals working in the power plant.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for robust plant safety and security procedures ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Direct plantlevel support functions including finance engineering materials and quality assurance to align with overall plant operations.
  • Oversee power plant operations to ensure compliance with operation manuals and company standards.
  • Manage procurement of power plant spare parts required for smooth operation and overhauls.
  • Coordinate and implement management plans for plant performance and costsaving projects.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations of employee performance preparing annual assessments.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business plans to drive costeffective operations and market
  • Foster effective community liaison with host communities.
  • Fulfill any additional duties assigned by the Managing Director/Asset Operations Manager/Board of Directors as needed.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of a first degree in Power Engineering Electrical/Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • A Postgraduate Degree in Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years work experience in a similar function within the same industry
  • Professional membership of the Council of the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) or other recognized Engineering Professional Body.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word Excel PowerPoint etc.)
