Construction Project Manager

Job Description

• Collaborating with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
• Assist in negotiating contracts with external vendors (contractors and suppliers ) to reach profitable agreements.
• Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
• Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
• Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies.
• Agreeing timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver the project.
• Drawing up a detailed plan for how to achieve each stage of the project.
• Selecting and leading the project team.
• Directing a multi-disciplinary team.
• Supervise the work of labors, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed.
• Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
• Ensuring that each stage of the project happens on time, on budget and to a high standard
• Resolving any issues or delays
• Demonstrating knowledge of all areas of construction
• Writing bids for tender
• Working in the office and the construction site.

Job Requirements

• BSc/BA in engineering, civil or architectural major.
• PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
• Proven experience as construction project manager.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
• Being well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures.
• Able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.
• Have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.
