- The day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimisation of our IT infrastructure and security systems, including servers, networks, software, firewalls, and XDR.
- Implementing and managing robust security measures to protect against cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Providing timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Utilising problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems efficiently.
- Contributing to maintaining backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures to mitigate risks and minimise downtime in case of system failures or disasters.
- Maintaining accurate documentation, manuals, and reports related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and training purposes.
- Generating regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborating effectively with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and services, ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Demonstrated experience in system, network, and security administration with a strong command of operating systems, networking protocols, and system security, preferably within the Financial Services / Insurance Industry.
- A natural problem solver with a systematic approach to troubleshooting complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
- A keen understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices, coupled with the ability to implement and manage robust security measures to protect our systems and data.
- Attention to detail in system configurations, maintenance tasks, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all undertakings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A team-oriented individual who thrives in collaborative environments, working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in the IT field, adapting quickly to evolving technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CISSP) would be advantageous.
