Role Summary and Purpose The Associate Business Systems Analyst (BSA I) works closely with senior level Business Systems Analysts (BSA) and D igital P roduct M anagers (DPM), business system owners, and users to assist in captur ing the right business requests which are then translat ed in to specifications that aid design, coding and testing of complex software and/or data warehouse applications within the organis ation . Business Systems Analyst performs a liaison function between the DPM, business users, software engineers and QA analysts for implementing software solutions in order to accurately realize business goals. Key Tasks
  • Work with the business users and DPM to accurately capture all stakeholder requests and translate them into system specifications which typically include functional, non-functional, user interface, reports and external interface specifications.
  • Work with software engineers to ensure the engineering realization is in accordance with the business specification and user requirements & stories are well understood and developed accordingly.
  • Collaborate with DPM and stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve product objectives.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders and DPM to identify needs and propose the best business solutions.
  • Analyzes maps and communicates current state and future state business processes including gap analysis. Creating templates or artifacts needed to prevent gaps in the future.
Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 1 year w ork experience in financial services, preferably insurance, software business systems and/or data warehouse applications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, or relevant field- preferable.
  • A good working knowledge of business analysis processes and techniques.
  • Good understanding of computer software development , computer terminology, and software applications .
  • Knowledge and proven experience of Agile software development processes (SDLC).
  • Good analyti cal, data-driven problem solving and organis ational skills and able to demonstrate an ability to effectively collaborate and convey information to colleagues, peers, software engineers and testers.
  • Experience of SQL and PowerBi desirable.
  • An awareness of usability and user experience best practices.
  • Proven ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, understandable way demonstrating excellent c ommunication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable interacting and partnering at all levels across the organisation including offshore teams.
  • Strong customer service skills to provide end user/business owner systems support on high level issues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced, deadline- driven and rapidly changing environment .
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn and contribute as part of a team, with the ability to work autonomously when required .
  • Flexible, multi - tasking and ability to deliver initiatives within a short timescale.
