REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • Special Education Endorsement.
  • Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher requirement.
  • Ability to develop and carry out individual educational plans, behavior intervention plans and progress monitor student growth.
  • Experience in managing and working in any special education classroom.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Master’s Degree.
  • Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the varied needs of students with disabilities when appropriate.
  • Develop differentiated lesson plans designed to address specific individualized IEP goals.
  • Maintain attendance records and other data, records, and reports required by the program supervisor.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of Haslett Public Schools.
  • Establish and maintain constructive professional relationships with building staff.
  • Maintain classroom area and furnishings in appropriate condition.
  • Maintain, store, utilize and protect records.
  • Request equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Cooperatively work with any paraprofessional assigned and supervise participating volunteers and student trainees.
  • Conduct IEP and other general caseload management duties.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Adhere to school schedule and calendar.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings.
  • Provide assistance to substitute teaching personnel as needed.
  • Perform all job-related duties assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
