REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
- Special Education Endorsement.
- Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Teacher requirement.
- Ability to develop and carry out individual educational plans, behavior intervention plans and progress monitor student growth.
- Experience in managing and working in any special education classroom.
- Master’s Degree.
- Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet the varied needs of students with disabilities when appropriate.
- Develop differentiated lesson plans designed to address specific individualized IEP goals.
- Maintain attendance records and other data, records, and reports required by the program supervisor.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Haslett Public Schools.
- Establish and maintain constructive professional relationships with building staff.
- Maintain classroom area and furnishings in appropriate condition.
- Maintain, store, utilize and protect records.
- Request equipment and supplies as needed.
- Cooperatively work with any paraprofessional assigned and supervise participating volunteers and student trainees.
- Conduct IEP and other general caseload management duties.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Adhere to school schedule and calendar.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings.
- Provide assistance to substitute teaching personnel as needed.
- Perform all job-related duties assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services.
