General Counsel - Commercial/Corporate Lawyer - ASX Listed Company Huntingwood

Join a dynamic, well established, ASX-listed, national manufacturing and distribution business as General Counsel. This is a sole legal role reporting to the CFO. About the Company Capral is Australia’s largest extruder and a leading distributor of aluminium products. With around 1,100 employees spread across the nation in manufacturing plants, distribution centres, and offices, we offer variety and workplace flexibility. Key Tasks

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including sales and purchase agreements, IT contracts, IP Licences, and finance agreements.
• Reviewing and negotiating commercial property leases.
• Providing support on strategic M & A initiatives.
• Managing commercial litigation.
• Regulatory advice and support in implementing compliance initiatives.
• Company secretarial and corporate governance support.
• Other tasks within the scope of the position.

Essential Criteria The successful applicant should possess the following:

• Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in corporate/ commercial work gained in a similar in-house role.
• Proven ability to partner with the business.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, decision making and negotiation skills.
• This position is part time but will require the incumbent to sometimes work outside of the normal scope of hours and to travel as and when required by the business.
