Providing hands-on support to Lecturers and to ensure effective course delivery, Randstad are keen to recruit experienced Workshop Technicians for our client Belfast Metropolitan College. The successful candidates will assist students achieve their academic goals and facilitate practical learning within the course specialisms of Engineering and Brickwork. Benefits Competitive salary £12.52-£13.16 per hour 36 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm Convenient city centre location, Millfield Campus Enhanced holiday package Employee Assistance Programme High Street Retail & Leisure discounts Opportunity to work with one of the UKs largest FE Colleges Requirements English GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent (certificates are required) Maths GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent (certificates are required) Previous work based experience within Trades, Engineering, Construction or Workshop environments essential Competent in the use of machine tools e.g. lathes, milling machines, band saws, drilling equipment & building materials Prior experience working with students or young adults within an educational or vocational nature highly desirable Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and support students Solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting checks before commencement in role including an enhanced Access NI check Responsibilities Facilitate practical hands-on learning within Engineering & Brickwork Prepare equipment, apparatus, tools and materials Demonstrate techniques under instruction from course lecturer Maintain a safe classroom working environment for students Stock control & inventory management of equipment, supplies, PPE & consumables Increase student knowledge with live demonstrations and support for assessment Randstad Care acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
