About the Role: Our teams work to provide insightful financial information to inform decision making across AIB, meet our regulatory commitments, manage AIB’s capital, liquidity and cost effectively and protect the assets of our business for the long term. By doing that we work to contribute to an exceptional customer experience. The Financial Reporting team plays a critical role in the production of the Group’s financial reporting and is responsible for the end-to-end accounting, financial control and reporting process. The team also engages and collaborates with the business supporting enterprise projects and initiatives. Your role will be to lead and inspire a team of finance professionals to deliver on the key responsibilities outlined below, enabling AIB achieve it’s strategic goals and support our customers. Key Responsibilities include:
- Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting to highest standard and in line with challenging customer deadlines.
- Responsible for controls and reconciliations over reporting activities, ensuring that operational risk is minimised.
- Participate in business projects and change initiatives, proposing workable business solutions where relevant, to ensure Financial Control requirements are met.
- Drive the continuous review and enhancement of reporting process to deliver efficiencies within own team and Financial Control
- Analyse and exploit the enterprise data warehouse and other reporting tools to achieve reporting efficiencies.
- Manage, coach and motivate team members to maximise their potential and enable delivery of team objectives.
- Ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained and that both internal & external customer requirements are met to the highest standards and within agreed timelines.
- Qualified accountant with minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
- Banking or financial services experience with an understanding of AIB’s business model, products and financial reporting suite
- Results driven individual with ability to problem solve, manage competing priorities and to deliver against tight deadlines
- The ability to analyse and interpret data, to assess its value and to present the findings to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise way
- Strong core business skills including stakeholder management, communication and influencing and managing & developing others.
