Biomedical Engineer I - Biomedical Engineering

Job Responsibilities:

1. Receives and provides guidance, orientation, and exposure to all responsibilities, duties, and service training on equipment.
2. Assists and trains BME technicians in maintenance and repair of equipment.
3. Liaises closely with medical professionals, doctors, and lab technicians, supplying companies, and their agents/engineers.
4. Proficient with specialty equipment in multiple models.
5. Oversees all service operations using knowledge and experience with technology and equipment; familiarizes with processes and procedures.
6. Communicates and builds relationships with vendors, technicians, engineers, nurses, department heads, and other healthcare facilities and units.
7. Manages and documents maintenance contracts; supervises all actions taken by third-party contract engineers and monitors labor and parts utilization.
8. Facilitates the training of institute personnel on equipment safety and proper use of medical equipment to prevent damages and misuse.
9. Documents all work orders, tests, equipment status and condition, user misuse, device-related incidents, and other department performances.
10. Prepares quarterly and annual reports on work orders, maintenance, and equipment movements.
11. Deals with technical queries from clinicians and researchers and provides advice on new equipment.
12. Performs daily rounds and assists with quarterly equipment checkup and inventory.
13. Performs a variety of complicated and manual tasks such as cleaning, lubrication of equipment components, replacing accessories, and personally transporting equipment.
14. Utilizes computer software and mathematical models to design, develop, and test new materials through performance tests, safety analysis, programming electronics, and troubleshooting problems.
15. Researches, develops, and maintains instruments and equipment to aid research and clinical staff.
