Participates in strategic planning activitiesfor specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis,participation in business plan development, etc.). Providestechnical guidance to assigned personnel, and ensures proficiencyand timeliness of contract administration. Makes staffingassignments and reassignments as project needs arise. Recruits,interviews, and evaluates prospective employees. Hires, takescorrective action as required, and approves terminations.• Collaborates with Client and project managementconsultant to ensure proper support in proposal preparation, aswell as contract negotiations and administration. •Reviews requests for proposals to identify risks and contractualterms not conforming to policy. • Negotiates the moredifficult, complex, or sensitive issues with clients. •Maintains an active participation in related professional societiesto keep abreast of relevant contractual issues. • Performsother responsibilities associated with this position as may beappropriate. • Requires a comprehensive knowledge ofindustry business practices and the negotiation of prime contracts.Skills Ideally B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering/QuantitySurveying/Construction Minimum Experience 15 years of primecontract administration and management experience within in a largeinternational engineering and construction firm with at least 10 ofthem working in a similar capacity on with similar companiessupporting large construction and infrastructure projects FurtherQualification Required • English language proficiency isrequired. • Chartered membership of the Royal Institute ofChartered Surveyors (MRICS) or other internationally recognizedinstitutions preferred • Have a working knowledge of PCsoftware packages typically associated with contractadministration. • Proven ability to perform in amanagement capacity is also required • The ability to workas part of a specialist team, combined with the self-motivationrequired to work with minimal supervision and have experience ofrunning multiple contracts at any one time, interpreting contractsand dealing with claims and other contractual issues. •Working knowledge of FIDIC and other international standards suchas, NEC, JCT, ICE, EJCDC, and pre- and post-award contractadministration. • Familiarity with civil and common law isa plus. Further Experience Required: • Relevant workexperience including extensive contracts administration,negotiation and claims management exposure. • Hasexperience dealing with high value claims, dispute resolution, andarbitration on both construction and infrastructure projects andpreferably have experience of working in the Middle East orInternationally with FIDIC and other international forms ofcontracts
