Housekeeping Supervisor At the Fitzwilliam Hotel our Accommodation Services are outsourced to a Nova Cleaning Ltd, whom we have partnered with for over 15 years. As Housekeeping Supervisor you will be based in The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and overall presentation of our luxury hotel. You will supervise a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to our established cleanliness standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping team, including room attendants, laundry porters, and public area staff. Assign tasks and responsibilities to the team, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and timely completion of cleaning duties. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with hotel standards. Train, mentor, and coach housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and guest service standards. Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens, and place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels. Collaborate with the front office and maintenance departments to prioritise room allocations and guest requests. Handle guest enquiries, requests, and feedback related to housekeeping services in a professional and timely manner. Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, as well as compliance with COSHH standards. Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, room statuses, and maintenance requests using housekeeping management software (Alkimii Property). Participate in regular meetings and training sessions as required to stay updated on policies, procedures, and industry trends. Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect among housekeeping staff. The ideal candidate: Previous experience within a hotel housekeeping department, with at least one years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and inventory management. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and manage time in a fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for cleanliness and presentation. Proficiency in using housekeeping management software and other computer applications. Demonstrated ability to handle guest enquiries, feedback, and requests with professionalism and courtesy. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and push/pull heavy objects on a regular basis. Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods during shift.
