About The Role We are seeking a skilled Development Quality Engineer specializing in hardware products to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automotive core tools, PLM gate processes, DFMEA, and problem-solving techniques. Development Quality brings the voice of customer to the project throughout the lifecycle with special focus on design to meet field, service, and initial quality targets. What You Will Do

  • Utilize automotive core tools such as APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to drive quality in hardware product development.
  • Moderate DFMEA, FBA sessions, PLM Gate Reviews
  • Conduct DFMEA to identify potential failure modes in hardware designs and develop mitigation strategies to minimize risk.
  • Lead and participate in PLM gate processes to manage hardware product development phases effectively, ensuring alignment with quality objectives and milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and supply chain to define and implement quality requirements and standards for hardware products.
  • Work closely with hardware designers to identify and address quality issues during the design phase.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on design improvements from a quality perspective.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot hardware-related issues reported by customers or internal teams by using problem solving methods (8D, A3, etc.).
  • Assess release readiness, project development KPIs & ensure implementation of design process risk assessment and prevention tools.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on HARMAN BMS Process (IATF 16949, ISO9001, ASPICE, etc.), automotive core tools, PLM gate processes, DFMEA, and problem-solving methodologies.
What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics & communications, electrical engineering, Mechanical/Automotive Engineering preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in hardware development and quality assurance, preferably in Automotive Industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive core tools including APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.
  • Experience with PLM gate processes and product lifecycle management systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, or similar.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Automotive standards and requirements applicable to automotive hardware products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall quality and reliability of hardware products, integrating DFMEA and PLM best practices.
What Is Nice To Have
  • Strong knowledge of automotive core tools including APQP, PPAP, and FMEA
  • Thorough understanding of systems development lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of automotive standards, inc. IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ASPICE etc.
  • Effective communications and negotiation skills in championing the customer quality requirements.
  • Certification in quality assurance, DFMEA
