We are currently searching for a skilled and motivated individual to join our client team as a Port Captain with a major shipping company based in Mumbai.As a Port Captain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and cost-effective operation of our fleet. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:Commercially operating the fleet safely and cost effectively.Preparing and executing stowage plans for various cargoes, ensuring safety and efficiency.Tracking and managing voyage performance efficiently, while implementing best practices.Demonstrating a strong understanding of Breakbulk, Bulk, and Project cargoes.Managing Port Operations and steering them towards achieving desired results.Conducting random inspections of ships and Port Operations to ensure compliance with company policy and standards.Ensuring adherence to HSEQ directives on the operational front.Managing and analyzing voyage costings to derive value through meaningful savings.Managing Stevedores and Port vendors to ensure smooth operations.Reviewing cargo stowage and optimizing cargo lifting, loading, and unloading sequences.Monitoring hold cleaning plans, including supply of chemicals and supervisors, and utilizing technology to bring about savings.Planning bunker supplies and coordinating with bunker suppliers.Liaising with P&I clubs and legal teams to resolve disputes.We believe that your extensive experience and expertise in the maritime industry make you an ideal candidate for this role.
