Erlanger Health System, in Chattanooga, Tennessee seeks a compassionate, operationally savvy, and inspirational leader to serve as its next Vice President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Children's Hospital at Erlanger (Children's). This leader will guide Children's to continue to be the destination for high-quality pediatric care in Chattanooga and the region. The CEO will provide overall executive leadership to Children's and will be expected to drive ongoing alignment of all providers, including employed, contracted and community-based physicians with the goals and direction of the Children's Hospital at Erlanger.Children's Hospital at Erlanger is honored to be certified as a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC), the highest designation in the state for pediatrics. This represents a level of care for children often found only in cities much larger than Chattanooga. In addition, the Children's Hospital at Erlanger is the region's only comprehensive resource for pediatric subspecialty services. Specifically, Children's supports a 64-bed Level IV NICU,10-bed Level II NICU, a 17-bed pediatric intensive care unit, and a 45-bed acute care unit. It also hosts the region's only pediatric emergency department, equipped with 33 beds, seeing over 38,000 visits annually and staffed with board certified pediatric emergency physicians 24 hours per day.Reporting to the EVP and System COO at Erlanger Health, the CEO will have overall operational oversight of Children's Hospital at Erlanger and will steer the organization towards success by setting clear strategies and performance benchmarks for the team and Children's (acute and ambulatory care). The CEO will partner closely with the senior management team of Children's and Erlanger Health, along with physicians and the University of Tennessee College of Medicine - Chattanooga, to ensure high quality patient care, physician and patient satisfaction and employee engagement.Children's is an academic medical center that maintains a close collaboration with The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. It serves as a primary pediatric teaching center with a distinguished pediatric residency program, a regular rotation of medical students and a highly engaged faculty. Effective relationships with the University of Tennessee and Chair of Pediatrics are imperative for building cutting-edge research, and innovative clinical practices and ensuring the highest standard of pediatric care for families in the Chattanooga region.The successful candidate will bring exceptional operational and financial acumen, a strategic orientation, and a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that guarantee the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare. They will bring a minimum of ten (10) years of Children's hospital departmental leadership experience in the acute healthcare setting. Exceptional physician relations skills are a must along with strong leadership skills and a hands-on visible approach to staff management.
