Overview The role of the Accounting Manager is to locally manage the compliance and accounting responsibilities for the business. This role will act as a business partner to the local management team in Malaysia and be the primary point of contact for the Corporate Tax, Treasury, and Legal teams. Responsibilities Financial Controlling
- Act as a trusted advisor and approver for matters related to legal, compliance, treasury, outgoing cash flow, payroll, and other related matters.
- Monitor spend versus budget, working with local leadership and providing recommendations for adjustments in spending and/or changes to annual budget
- Maintain monthly cashflow projections and bank relationships
- Prepare monthly journal entries to accrual for expenses related to payroll
- Prepare monthly debit notes between local entity and parent company
- Review reconciliations of all balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis as indicated by the monthly closing schedule
- Review and approve vendor payments and employee reimbursements
- Perform basic office management duties as requested
- Maintains the company’s system of internal controls and assures compliance with policies and procedures
- Coordinates the outsourced internal audit function and the annual audit of the company’s financial statements with the company’s external audit firm.
- Reports results of annual audit and internal audit to the Corporate Controller
- Coordinates with external partners for the annual Corporate Income Tax
- Responds to various types of tax notices and inquiries from various jurisdictions and involves Director of Tax and Treasury or external tax advisors when necessary.
- Degree minimum:Bachelordegree – Accounting or Finance related field
- Specific concentration: Finance or Accounting
- Experience level: 8+ years in Accounting
- Fluent ability to speak, write and read in English
- Experience with a multinational company a plus
- Oracle/Hyperion experience a plus
