  • Carry out of full responsibility and duties required of a Teaching Deputy Student Affairs Sport.
  • Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing, and which promotes engaged learning.
  • Behave in a professional manner with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and students’ homework.
  • Add value to the team, in the classroom and beyond i.e. fulfilling various school life duties.
  • Use technology effectively and creatively to enhance learning.
  • Creation of rich, real and relevant 21 century content and high quality resources for students.
  • Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
  • Be open to continuously develop ones teaching through personal and school wide professional development.
  • Teach extra lessons, when required, on two afternoons per week.
  • Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
  • Show loyalty to all facets of Reddam House.
  • Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
  • Set and mark assessments and all other forms of student evaluation.
  • Write report comments.
  • The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head/line manager determine.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • A minimum of 10 -15 years of experience working with students in the Intermediate Phase (Grade 4-7) i.e primary school level
  • Experience and confidence with use of ICT in teaching
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics and Sciences up to Grade 7
  • Proficiency and resilience in teaching within the dynamic and driven academic programme
  • Have a sound track record of managing student conduct
  • Understanding of and ability to manage a positive discipline and restorative justice programme
  • Effective communication skills – parents, students and staff
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Sound track record of successes and involvement in various sporting codes
  • High organization and planning skills – able to manage high volumes of Sports related admin
  • Previous experience within the South African Independent Schools system
  • Previous experience in a high-performing international school
  • University degree in appropriate phase (Intermediate Phase)
  • Certified Teaching Status - SACE registered
  • Appropriate right to work
