Location | UK Wide | Remote Working Delivery Role Summary: A Consulting Director will build and lead a practice area or has the expertise for which they are known in the market. The Director demonstrates strong client management skills, overseeing engagements, and leads business development activities. The Director will develop and adapt business strategy in response to changing client demands and external trends. The Director will lead practice decisions, including people management. Key Accountabilities – Clients:

  • Manages specific areas of the business and leads/oversees multiple and concurrent projects, with the contribution of specialists as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains a credible and influential profile in this specialist area and adapts business strategy in response to client demands and external change (e.g. new regulations).
  • Leads business development activities for assigned clients, enabled by a strong understanding of client requirements.
  • Develops revenue plans for both existing and new clients.
  • Oversees commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement (e.g. fee proposals, budget, fee collection) and ensures these are managed effectively to achieve expected levels of quality and profitability.
  • Leads negotiations with external parties/clients.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key senior/board members of existing or new clients.
  • Networks with clients and relevant professional bodies and associations.
  • Shares deep knowledge of current market and competitor trends and activities.
Key accountabilities – Quality:
  • Executes engagements to a level that meets Fourthline’s quality standards within a commercial context.
  • Manages scope and delivers timely and quality deliverables.
  • Creates/inputs into innovative and repeatable client solutions.
  • Ensures team hold review on completion of engagements to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and commercial planning.
Key accountabilities – People:
  • Involved in/leads workforce planning and building team capability to futureproof the workforce.
  • Identifies team development needs and provides coaching, mentoring and stretch assignments to challenge, develop and retain Fourthline’s most talented team members.
  • Meets firm deadlines throughout performance development cycles for both self and the wider team including:
-Seeking quality feedback -Goal-setting -Input into engagement reviews -Cascading own goals -Conducting regular conversations with team members
  • Effectively supports and manages underperformance in line with Fourthline guidance and policies.
  • Takes action to ensure well-being matters are properly handled and resolved by demonstrating empathy and awareness of team.
  • Ensures team members accurately charge time to engagement codes to see the true value of work delivered and to recognise individual and team effort.
  • Builds constructive working relationships across different Fourthline service offerings. Shares internal networks with others to support an understanding of the breadth of capabilities at Fourthline.
  • Share knowledge with other Fourthline colleagues/services and contribute to the development of knowledge resources.
  • Champions people-focused actions and initiatives which drive cultural improvement across Fourthline.
Key accountabilities – Public trust:
  • Ensures their own mandatory and regulatory training and that of the Consulting team is completed by their required due dates.
  • Does not undertake work that does not fit with their own or Fourthline’s capabilities.
  • Proactively takes action to avoid Personal Independence breaches.
  • Takes action if they observe and/or are made aware of conduct that is inconsistent with Fourthline’s values and ethical standards.

  • The Person | We are looking to hire a BCM & resilience practitioner who has a background within professional services, consulting or managed services B2B sectors
  • Knowledge | Deep and broad understanding of the operational resilience programme and related disciplines and concepts. Awareness of technology and data resilience frameworks, disciplines and concepts
  • Experience | Leading and developing new commercial revenue models that deliver new source of value to clients
  • Technical Skills | Project Management, Programme Design, Risk Management, Assurance
  • Your Approach | Overall you value delivering the right quality outcomes, efficiently and on time. Comfortable operating cross-functionally, and contributing to the challenge of others
