Job Summary As the Head of Data Management and Governance for Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), you will play a critical role in defining and executing data strategies that drive business value and enhance data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with CIB Business Units and Functions, you will lead efforts to articulate CIB-Wide Data strategy, business value of data initiatives, define cross-business unit data assets and products, prioritise data portfolio investments, and support the development of a data-driven culture. Key Accountabilities

  • Business Portfolio Management: Manage the CIB data portfolio, ensuring alignment with CIB data strategy, business objectives, and enterprise data governance. Monitor and report on the progress, benefits, and risks of data initiatives across CIB. Provide guidance and support to data owners and stakeholders on data portfolio management best practices and tools.
  • Business Case Development: Lead the development and validation of business cases for data initiatives, ensuring alignment with CIB data strategy, business value proposition, and return on investment. Facilitate the prioritisation and approval of data initiatives across CIB. Provide guidance and support to data owners and stakeholders on business case development best practices and tools.
  • Data Asset and Product Landscape: Define and maintain the CIB data asset and product landscape, identifying and cataloguing cross-business unit data assets and products that enable data-driven decision-making and innovation. Promote the reuse and sharing of data assets and products across CIB. Provide guidance and support to data owners and stakeholders on data asset and product management best practices and tools.
  • Communication and Advocacy: Communicate and advocate the CIB data strategy, data portfolio, and data asset and product landscape to CIB senior leadership, business units, functions, and enterprise data governance. Engage and influence key stakeholders and decision-makers to foster a data-driven culture and support data initiatives across CIB. Provide guidance and support to data owners and stakeholders on data communication and advocacy best practices and tools.
  • Industry Perspective and Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and analyse the data trends, opportunities, and challenges in the financial services industry and the competitive landscape. Provide insights and recommendations to CIB senior leadership, business units, functions, and enterprise data governance on how to leverage data as a strategic asset and a competitive advantage.
Education and Experience Required
  • Must have a B Degree in a related field, e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Management, DAMA certified.
Experience required:
  • 10-15 years working experience on projects related to data strategy/change.
  • Involved in building the Data Strategy/Practice capability in an organisation, preferably within the Financial Services industry.
  • Track record in portfolio management
  • Desirable to have worked in a similar role in an investment or Commercial Bank
