As a Business Development Manager in our commercial team you will focus on selling our Larger than parcel services to SME's and specialist automotive transportation to dealerships/wholesalers to support them with their logistic needs. We act as an extension of their business allowing them to scale up/scale down depending on peaks and troughs of their business. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the sales process and excels at researching leads, starting new relationships and building pipelines. We will be looking for someone who can move into a 360 sales role really quickly as soon as you are able to demonstrate the right level of product knowledge and closing ability. What you'll be doing:

  • Pro-actively generate leads and opportunities utilising multiple channels to actively build your pipeline working towards KPIs
  • Engage a range of client stakeholders including MDs, Transport Managers, Commercial Directors, Procurement, etc to understand their needs and objectives
  • Hold online meetings with prospective clients in the UK to engage them in AnyVan products and services
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our solutions and services and deliver our USPs in a clear and concise way
  • Work to agreed targets that focus on both numbers (revenue generation) and ethics (selling in the right way)
  • Develop into a full 360 sales role where you have the opportunity to close the deal and manage the relationship moving forward
  • Be provided the opportunity to progress into a more progressive role and develop account management skills

Working Patterns We are extremely proud of our culture and believe in the many benefits that being in the office provides - all our roles require regular time in our office in the central business district in Cape Town. We do not offer fully remote roles but we support hybrid working wherever possible (3 days in office, 2 days from home). However, to meet the needs of our customers and business operations many of our Operational and Commercial roles are fully office based.
